Sleep Easy 2013

Do you Sleep Easy? Every night in Hertfordshire, people young and old are sleeping rough - they don't have a choice but you do! Can you give up your bed for one night?

YMCA Central Herts is challenging people to sleep out overnight on Friday 1st March 2013 from 7pm until 7am the following morning, to raise awareness of youth homelessness and support our work in the local community.

What is Sleep Easy?

Participants are asked to brave the cold, sleep in a cardboard box for one night and get sponsored for their efforts in the fourth annual YMCA Sleep Easy! Not only will it be a challenging and eye opening experience, but a evening of fun and entertainment. There will be a competitions for 'Best Decorated Box' and 'Most Elaborate Sleeping Structure" along with team activities run by our Youth Workers to help provide lots of fun and laughter before bed time!

In 2013 we are holding Sleep Easy at three locations, take part either in;

• Hatfield - The Galleria
• Stevenage - Westgate multi-storey carpark 
• Letchworth - Sainsburys car park

All money raised from this event will go towards the work of YMCA Central Herts, including the supported accommodation we provide for over 120 people every night who might otherwise be homeless.

There is a £10 non-refundable registration fee which will cover your entry, along with hot drinks throughout the night and a hot breakfast in the morning.

We are encouraging participants to raise a minimum of £125 sponsorship money. Anyone who has raised at least £125 by the night will receive a Sleep Easy thermal mug and those that have raised in excess of £175 will also get a Sleep Easy knitted hat; great to keep out the cold on the night and as a keepsake of your experience sleeping rough.

• By signing up to take part, you are agreeing to the event's terms and conditions, which can be downloaded in full here
• Minimum age is 16 (Under 18’s must be accompanied by a participating adult aged over 25.)

By spending a night challenging yourself, you will be raising money to change the lives of homeless young people.
