Youth Work

The YMCA Youth Work team provides a wide range of fun and exciting activities in various locations. Through drop in sessions, workshops and a variety of informal and positive educational activities we offer young people the opportunity to grow and develop both themselves and their local community.  take ownership of their local community.

The YMCA Youth Work team is committed to helping young people to grow, mature and reach their potential as active members of their communities. It  does this through sports work, detached work, taking Space into schools and colleges, running community events, supporting local churches and at our Space Centres in Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield and Stevenage. 

Whether a young person is looking for a place to chill out with their mates, find out about qualifications or volunteering opportunities, get some support to handle an issue or just sit back with a cuppa and a laptop, the YMCA youth work has something for you.

We offer two main types of Youth Work:

• Youth Centres
• Community based youth work

YMCA always works in partnership, and the youth work is no exception. We work with faith groups, schools, other youth work services, district and county councils, loads of volunteers and hundreds of young people.
