YMCA Day Nurseries

We understand that choosing a nursery place for your child is one of the hardest things you can do. Whether you are returning to work or looking to change childcare providers why not call in and see for yourself what a safe and fun environment YMCA can offer your family.

Learning through play

Like all childcare providers we are registered with Ofsted and use the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as the framework for the care and learning we provide.

Activities and staff to suit your child

The YMCA organises its nurseries to ensure the care and activities it offers are appropriate to specific age groups. Broadly these are for children aged 3 month to 2 years, 3-4 years and 3-5 years. However we understand that your child is an individual and is not defined by a number. Therefore your child will only move up to the next stage when both you and our nursery staff think your child is ready.

Happy to be flexible

Unlike other childcare providers the YMCA aims to offer childcare at times to suit you - fixed session times are our nurseries aren't necessarily standard. this means that your child can have the care arrangements you need. Not only does this ensure the most cost effective childcare we hope it can support and complement you working arrangements.

We follow your routine

Your YMCA key worker will also listen to you to ensure that we accommodate your views and special requests for your child's care. These include your child's dietary requirements and preferences, sleep patterns, play and general behaviour to ensure we work together to follow your child's routine.

We welcome parents to take part in the nursery activities and we invite you to talk more closely to your child 's key worker and the team on parents evening. However we believe communication is on-going and we welcome your feedback and suggestions at any time.
