Sam Skinner's Epic Walk for YMCA Central Herts

Sam Skinner is walking 264 miles from Pembroke Dock to his home in Stevenage to raise money for YMCA Central Herts

Sam Skinner embarks on an epic 264 mile hike, starting from Pembroke Dock on 4th January and plans to be ending at  home in Stevenage on 20th January. The epic trek is raising money for three charities, YMCA Central Herts, the motor-Neurones Disease association, and Elton John’s Aids Foundation

Sam Skinner said, “I’m carrying out this walk to raise money and awareness for the three charities. The reason I chose YMCA Central Herts is because they are a local charity that does a lot of amazing work. They bring people back to their feet when they have been knocked down both physically and mentally. YMCA Central Herts have helped out people I know in the past, helping them realise the goals that they want to achieve. The first step of getting help is asking for it and that’s what YMCA Central Herts are there for.”

The walk is expected to take 3 weeks to complete, battling against the cold weather and the threat of snow.

Sam continued, “I figured if I can dedicate 3 weeks of my life towards something as gruelling as this, then people may think about going into their pockets for a few extra bob!”
